Abaddon Books is set to release an new book in its Pax Britannia shared universe, Pax Britannia: Anno Frankenstein, by Jonathan Green, later this month.
In this installment of the story of the Pax Britannia universe, the fifth by Green, Queen Victoria is still the ruler of Magna Britannia in the late 20th century. She is in her sixteenth decade on the throne thanks to the wonders of advanced steam technology, the kingdom is loosely allied with the US Socialist States of America, and there are dinosaurs on display in London.
But Ulysses Lucian Quicksilver, agent of the throne and with some experience of being dead, has a problem. One Daniel Dashwood is intent upon traveling back in time to the last days of the Second Great War with the goal of sharing modern technology with Hitler and change history as his world knows it. In an attempt to stop Dashwood, Quicksliver jumps into a time vortex behind Dashwood, into a world where Hitler is already building an army of super-soldiers at Castle Frankenstein. With a bit of Sherlock Holmes in his makeup, and a trace of James Bond, Quicksilver might just be the man for the job.
Pax Britannia: Anno Frankenstein, will be available in the UK on 12 May 2011 and in the US and Canada on 17 May 2011. It will also be available as an e-book.
