Capcom has announced that an expansion for its popular Dead Rising 2 game is on the way soon.
Dead Rising 2 involves a zombie apocalypse in the futuristic Fortune City, a shopping mall and casino complex in which the player must carve their way through the living dead. Using a variety of weird and wonderful weapons, naturally, including chainsaws, lawn mowers, and homemade cattle prods (fashioned from a rake and car battery, there’s inventiveness for you).
Case West brings back the photojournalist from the original Dead Rising, Frank West, to join Chuck Greene in a co-op adventure. Together, they must investigate the Phenotrans and prove their involvement in the zombie pens being opened. It’s possible to play with a friend co-operatively, or have the AI control Frank if no partner is on hand.
Naturally, there are new enemies to face off against, and new combo weapons to create, such as one which Capcom calls the janitor’s favourite, the “zap & shine” (exterminates all undead with a freshly buffed finish guaranteed).
Dead Rising 2: Case West should be out on Xbox Live come December 27th, and it will be priced at 800 MS points, just under £7.
