Solaris Books has announced two new titles, one a horror anthology that is available now and the other a fantasy novel that will be available early next year. In addition, Solaris has also said it will publish a supernatural thriller by Christopher Fowler in early 2012.
The End of the Line, edited by Jonathan Oliver, presents 19 new horror stories which have in common settings in and around places like the Underground and the Metro. These stories come from the pens of writers such as Ramsey Campbell, Christopher Fowler, Mark Morris, Pat Cadigan, Adam Nevill, and Michael Marshall Smith, among others.
Jonathan Oliver is an author was well as editor-in-chief of Solaris and Abaddon Books. The End of the Line is Mr. Oliver’s first time as editor of a horror anthology.
The End of the Line is now available in the UK as well as in the United States and Canada.
The Sentinel Mage, by Emily Gee, is the first volume in the Cursed Kingdoms trilogy.
A prince from a bloodline of mages and with a price on his head is the only one who can save the Seven Kingdoms from an ancient curse. A shapeshifter is the only one who can protect the prince so that he will remain alive along enough to save the Kingdoms, but in order to do so she must confront the forbidden by becoming a man. But even if the prince lives long enough to break the curse, he must overcome his hatred for his magical gifts enough to use them.
Emily Gee lives in New Zealand and writes fantasy and romance novels.
The Sentinel Mage will be available in the United States and Canada on 25 January 2011 and in the UK on 3 February 2011.
In addition, Solaris has also announced that it will publish Hell Train, by Christopher Fowler, in January 2012. In the book, four strangers meet on a train traveling through Eastern Europe during World War I, where they must confront evil to discover what the mysterious “Arkangel” is. But they must also contend with other mysterious travelers with whom they share the train in order to discover the answers they need.
Christopher Fowler has written over 30 novels and 10 short story collections, as well as comedy and drama for the BBC He is also a columnist.
Hell Train will be published by Solaris Books in January 2012.
