THQ has announced that Red Faction Armageddon is now set for a May 2011 release.
The next instalment in the action gaming sci-fi series takes a new direction, moving beneath the surface of Mars with the battle for the survival of the planet and humanity after the release of a long dormant evil.
Expect ice caves and lava flows (picking what to wear is going to be a bugger), along with physics based weaponry which THQ promises will redefine the shooter genre. One device is called the magnet gun – although hasn’t that already been done in Half Life, sort of, with the gravity gun? Should be interesting to see how this is different…
THQ also has Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine coming out in the summer of 2011, so there’s plenty of sci-fi stuff to look forward to from the publisher next year.
