The rather clunkily named Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole is a game from Warner Bros based on the family oriented fantasy adventure film of the same name (based on the books, naturally).
While the game doesn’t come out until October, you’ll be able to have a crack at the demo next Monday when it comes out on Xbox Live, and two days later on the PS3.
As the player in the Ga’Hoole game, you’ll take the role of a young guardian, a winged warrior tasked with fighting on the side of the righteous in the usual tale of good versus evil.
With 22 missions spread across 5 worlds, and full 360 degree flight mechanics, yet easy to master and intuitive controls, it sounds an absolute hoot. Expect mid-air battles aplenty, and intricacies such as giving commands on-the-fly to wingmen, along with role-playing elements such as upgrading your character’s attributes and skills.
Samantha Ryan, Senior VP, Production and Development at Warner Bros commented: “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole – The Videogame gives players a fun, new gameplay experience capturing the excitement of owl fight and flight with intuitive and smooth controls.”
“Players will be able to do much more than fly, as they race, attack and grow their abilities for a more immersive experience throughout the expansive environments beautifully depicted in the game.”
If you’re interested in trying a bit of owl piloting, keep your eyes peeled 360 degree style for the launch of the demo next week.
