Sony was showing off its upcoming massively multiplayer online superhero game at the recent Comic-Con show in San Diego.
And the six minute trailer which wowed fans has been put up on YouTube – you can see it in all its suited and booted butt-kicking glory here. It’s an impressive introduction to the story of the game, to say the least.
DC Universe Online features a collection of DC super heroes and villains (as seen in the trailer), although naturally there won’t be six thousand Batman characters running around cracking dubious jokes about Alfred’s sexuality and suchlike. Players will define their own original heroes, choosing to be on the side of justice, or Legion of Doom.
Either way, they’ll be working towards the same goal – avoiding the fate of Earth as shown in the trailer.
Apparently Sony plans to make the game more “interactive” than your average MMORPG, with twitch oriented action based combat, as opposed to clicking skill buttons.
The game will be out on PC and PS3 formats come November, and it will cost $15 per month subscription.
