The Green Lantern film is due out next summer, and Warner Bros has just announced that the obligatory game license will be partnering its release.
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is an action-adventure “inspired” by the film which stars the newest member of the Green Lantern Corps, Hal Jordan, the first human to join this intergalactic police force.
Warner Bros isn’t saying much about it at the moment, except that the game will be set “across the deepest parts of the universe”, and go beyond the scope of the film.
Samantha Ryan, Senior VP, Production and Development, Warner Bros, commented: “Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters gives players the chance to experience the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, going beyond the events of the film and comic books.”
Expect it to arrive in the summer of 2011, on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Nintendo DS formats. The film will be out at the same time in both 2D and 3D.
