Nicholas Cage will be returning to play Johnny Blaze in the sequel to Ghost Rider, the actor himself has confirmed.
Previously, rumour had it that he might not be returning to the Marvel production. Screen Rant reports that Cage was chatting about the Sorcerer’s Apprentice on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, when the subject of Ghost Rider 2 was brought up.
Cage said: “There’s gonna be a new one. I just made the deal today.”
Cage also confirmed that Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the pair behind the Crank movies, will be directing Ghost Rider 2: Spirit of Vengeance.
The original Ghost Rider film was panned by critics, and although we rather enjoyed it to some extent, we’re clearly in a minority. Most are hoping for better things with the new directors in place.
