NCsoft has announced that Assault on Balaurea, the next chapter in the MMORPG world of Aion, will be unleashed on September 7th.
It will be released in digital form, as well as a retail boxed copy, with the latter featuring exclusive in-game pets (although that won’t be out in Europe until September 10th).
The expansion opens up the world of Aion beyond the traditional territories of Asmodae and Elysea, allowing players to gather together and launch counter-assaults against the invading Balaur’s homeland.
Expect a host of new zones and instances, the usual extra loot, along with new skills and an increased level cap. Functional pets and additional flight mechanics are also promised.
Flight is a key aspect of Aion, as it’s designed to be much more than a cool way to flit about the game world. Flying is actually an integral part of quests, exploration, and indeed combat.
