The demo of Microsoft’s over-the-top futuristic action game has been released onto Xbox Live.
Crackdown 2 gives you more of the same vertical jumping, furious blasting, sandbox style action that the original boasted. As a superhuman agent, you must track down not only criminals this time round, but also mutants who were infected by a dangerous virus and now run amok in the city.
It’s up to you to bring peace to the streets by the most effective means possible. Namely, blowing everything that moves up. And quite a few things that don’t move, probably.
As well as the single player campaign, you can also tackle the story co-op style with four mates. And there are lots of deathmatch style multiplayer modes, of course, for up to sixteen players.
Should you play the demo a lot and earn any of its achievements, these will be transferred across when the full game is out. That will be on July 9th, and it will set you back £49.99.
One final note – prospective players who are Facebookers might wish to sign up for the Chuck’s Ducks 2 game at: http://apps.facebook.com/chucksducks
Playing and winning at this carnival style app will earn you sticky rubber duck bombs that you can use in Crackdown 2′s multiplayer.
