A new UK games publisher is on the block, going by the name of Ant Games.

The company’s first title will be an MMORPG in which you play an enterprising young insect in search of jam inside a house.

If your quest for fruit based preserves is successful, will you then be able to avoid the hot water poured forth from the giant kettle of doom?

No. Of course, we’re being silly. Fallen Earth: Blood Sports is actually an MMORPG which came out in the US late last year to some positive nods from critics.

The game blends first-person shooter with role-playing in a post apocalyptic Grand Canyon setting.

Mutated survivors, a mysterious virus and a giant nefarious corporation (hmm, wonder if those last two are linked) number amongst the mysteries of this Mad Max style MMORPG. There might even be mutant ants in it too. Giant B-movie ones. But we don’t know for sure.

The Blood Sports subtitle refers to additional player versus player elements which have just been patched in. These include deathmatch, capture the flag, survival and assault game modes.

Ant Games is headed up by Stewart Bell, who used to be the Managing Director at famous simulation crafters Microprose. Unsurprisingly, the company will also be publishing Warbirds: Dogfights, a massively multiplayer air combat game.

Both games will be available later this month.
