The new Disney epic flick, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, will hold its world premiere in London, this Sunday May 9th.
It stars Jake Gyllenhaal, of Donnie Darko and Brokeback Mountain fame, an actor who is moving on from such darker roles to take up the mantle of action hero.
He’ll be buckling his swashes, and generally leaping and diving all over the shop, in what is considered by many to be a potential new franchise to rival Pirates of the Caribbean. Disney certainly hopes it will gross as much as Johnny Depp’s shenanigans.
Gyllenhaal’s prince will be accompanied by Gemma Arterton’s princess, in a race against the forces of darkness to complete as many stunts as possible inside of two hours.
Gyllenhaal has apparently trained hard for the movie, bulking up considerably, and performs a lot of the stunts himself. No doubt his female fans are in for a treat.
The film will be coupled with the launch of a Prince of Persia game from Ubisoft later this month.
