Tomorrow, Valve will release the first add-on for its zombie massacring sequel, Left 4 Dead 2.

Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing brings a whole slew of new brain-blasting content to the popular survival-horror franchise on the Xbox 360 and PC.

It features the cast from L4D2, who head down south to rural Georgia, where they meet the stars of the original game. Plus a shed-load of zombies, naturally.

The Passing will offer a new co-op challenge mode, and a series of shifting weekly game modes called “mutations”.

These will include the likes of Chainsaw Massacre, which gives every player a chainsaw, an unlimited supply of fuel, and very probably a big cheesy grin on their blood splattered face.

Over twenty such mutations will be planned, with each of them playable on every L4D2 campaign.

The add-on will also bring with it support for infected bots in Versus, and a new “uncommon common” zombie class – the fallen survivor. (“Ooh Vic, he’s fallen…”)

Two new weapons round off the additions – a chunky M60 for some really heavy firepower, and a fresh melee weapon, the golf club. Hopefully a nice big driver… Fore!

Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing is out tomorrow, costing 560 MS Points on the Xbox, and free on the PC.
