The UK now has its own Space Agency, it is not exactly going to be along the same the lines as NASA, but at least it is a step in the right direction for the UK at least.
The UK Space Agency or UKSA as it will also be known as was unveiled by the Business Secretary, Lord Mandelson and the Science Minister, Lord Drayson.
The agency’s task is to bring all of the bodies and government departments involved in this industry together for the first time.
However, it seems that the agency has a connection with the popular BBC science fiction series Doctor Who. The striking UKAS logo, which is a union flag pointing upwards, has been seen in the TV show as the logo for the British Rocket Group.
