Even before the fifth series of Doctor Who and the first outing for the new Doctor played by Matt Smith has been shown, the BBC are keen to announce that the next series as well as the now standard Christmas special have already been commissioned.
The corporation is only too keen to tell the fans of the series that Matt Smith will be back as the Doctor, but there is no word that his glamorous assistant played by Karen Gillan! Is there to be yet another new assistant for the Doctor?
One sure thing about the next series according to the new showrunner, Steven Moffat, is that there will be no characters from the Russell T Davies era turning up in the series, which should prove to be very interesting, but does that mean no Daleks or Cybermen?
