HBO have announced that filming for the epic Game of Throne is due to start in various locations around Belfast and Northern Ireland this summer, bring some much needed income to the region.
The Game of Throne starring Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Alfie Allen, will be the pilot episode to a ten part series based on the fantasy novel series, A Song of Fire and Ice written by George RR Martin.
It would be easy to compare this series against the Lord of the Rings, but it seems that the studio wants this series to be based more on realistic fights and battles, rather than relying on special effects to carry the story.
Filming has already started with scenes produced in Morocco and Scotland.
