As one Doctor moves on to pastures green, there is always another waiting in the wings and despite only being able to regenerate a certain number times, in fact there can be only thirteen Doctors.
So that takes us nicely onto the 11th Doctor played by Matt Smith who is a little known actor to the audience, with only “Party Animals” to compare to.
But as with any replacement there is always going to be some fear and even dislike, especially as the previous Doctor, David Tennant was so popular with a wide ranging audience.
Matt Smith has a lot of work to do and if he plays his cards right can become one of the most popular Doctors ever.
The BBC has released a trailer of the new Doctors exploits due to be aired in the Spring of 2010.
