David Allen
The actor that brought a different style of captain to Star Trek is to be awarded one of the highest honours by the Queen in the New Years Honours List.
Patrick Stewart or as he will now be known as “Sir Patrick”, will be knighted by Queen for his services to acting and drama.
He will join the long list of deep voiced classically trained actors that have made their way through film and TV to a point where they have no option but to return to the stage and perform the classics once more.
The sixty nine year old actor has been in the industry for fifty years and yet to many of us he is still Jean-Luc Picard, Captain of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
