According to certain movie news sources such as Cinema Blend, the Spider-Man actor Toby Maguire is being lined up to play the part of title role of Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings prequel The Hobbit.
But there are also counter rumours too; it seems that Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man 5 will be filmed back to back; however this would not be possible if the actor took on the role in The Hobbit too.
The fuel behind these claims is that Toby Maguire has confirmed that he has been in talks with movie director Guillermo del Toro and that there is an announcement in the pipeline.
Although it seems that this meeting could have more to do with the new film Brothers rather than The Hobbit.
