There was a time when it looked like SGU may not make it to a second series, but according to THR, SyFy have been pleased with the reviews and ratings so far and therefore have given the go ahead for a second series to be made.
In the same announcement another show connected to SGU, Sanctuary has been renewed for a third series, which is wonderful news for all fans of science fiction.
Both shows will premiere in the US during the later part of 2010 and shortly afterwards here in the UK.
It is understood that the order from SyFy is for twenty episodes of both series, which is interesting considering that the second half of the series are yet to be seen due to the midseason break.
