For some people the induction of the late and great Gene Roddenberry into the US Television Academy’s Hall of Fame should have happened a long time ago.
But finally, the people that seem to make all of the important decisions have seen sense and finally allowed Gene Roddenberry in the Hall of Fame.
There was much more to Gene Roddenberry than just Star Trek, but it is the original sixties series and the films that followed that put him on the map and to some extent created a new genre for the TV audience.
Gene Roddenberry will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame of the 20th January 2010; the ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.
