David Allen

For many directors the offer of material from the legendary Stephen King would be enough to make them drop everything and say thanks very much.

However, when the offer is made to one JJ Abrams it is a risk that only the brave would be willing to take, so JJ is offered The Dark Tower series, its sci-fi and fantasy, so therefore it should be right up JJ’s street, right? Wrong!

The director has apparently turned down the chance to create a visual version of what goes on in Stephen King’s mind, not because he does not like the work or the writer on the contrary JJ loves Stephen Kings work.

The reason why JJ won’t take on the Dark Tower is according to MTV, that JJ does not want to screw it up, can’t be fairer than that.
