Science fiction has never been so popular when it comes to television, there have always been the odd programme that stood such as, Battlestar Galactica in the 1970’s and V in the 1980’s, but these were sort of one off events.
However, today science fiction is everywhere and fans are often spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding what to watch, thank goodness for the PVR!
One gauge of how successful and popular science fiction has become are the awards, it used to be rare for a science fiction based show to even get mentioned at the big award ceremonies. But recently that seems to have change and the Emmys demonstrate that.
