It looks as if this is a classic example of the film industry getting ahead of itself. With world famous director Ridley Scott planning his project diary with yet another fantasy film version of a novel.
This only problem facing the filmmaker is that although the film rights have been sold the actual book has not been published; in fact, it has not even been finished yet.
This begs the question as to what a director such as Ridley Scott would see in a finished book with the title “The Passage” by Jonathan Ainsley, the current timeline for the publication of this book is mid 2010.
The story follows research in South America, that a bite from a certain species of bat is curing terminally ill people. The government takes over the research and begins to create vampires.
That is the basic storyline from which John Logan will be writing the screenplay to.
