The Scream 2009 award nominations by Spike TV are out and the lists of stars, films and TV programmes are no real surprise. It is Star Trek that takes the top spot with a massive seventeen nominations across the huge range of categories.
Surprisingly this is only the fourth year that Scream has been run, but for science fiction, these awards are very significant indeed, as these are the only awards to cover comics, fantasy, horror and sci-fi.
The awards ceremony will take place on the 17th October at the Greek Theatre, Los Angeles.
According to the executive producer of Scream 2009, Casey Patterson, eight out of the ten highest grossing films of all time actually fall into the Scream categories. Proving that the genre is a force within the industry.
