David Allen
The teams behind the hit films Transformers and the long running Smallville are joining forces to bring to life the work James Frey and Jobie Hughes, as the films rights to “I am number four” have been picked up by the team.
The film will be based on the collection of six novels about nine aliens having escaped their home world shortly before it was destroyed, make new lives for themselves disguised as teenagers on earth.
Clearly, there is the potential for this to become a long running series. Providing there is enough interest in the first film, which follows one of the aliens who has become a high school student.
This has the feeling of the sci-fi series Roswell, so the film will need to steer clear of anything similar in order for it to have any long term prospects.
