It is just not normal for a filmmaker to show such a massive slice of their latest film, but for director James Cameron pushing the boundaries in both filmmaking and the marketing of the film is just part of the whole experience.
Once again the director has pushed those boundaries, with Avatar the 3D science fiction film that takes places on another planet, it was felt that a one or two minute trailer just would not serve the purpose.
Therefore, filmgoers in LA were handed 3D specs and were treated to the full sixteen minute 3D trailer, most of those that see the trailer were impressed, while the rest were overwhelmed as film takes on a new dimension.
This is a great feature for film, especially a film such as Avatar, but what this does mean in real terms is some serious investment for the cinemas.
