In 1982 a science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring the high flying Harrison Ford was released, the film was Blade Runner and by all accounts, it was a flop at box office.
However, since those early days the film has developed a cult following and this rubs off on new fans of the genre, suddenly over the years Blade Runner has become one of the most popular science fiction films of our time.
This has been highlighted with a poll run by totalscifionline.com with Blade Runner coming out on top, what is surprising about the poll is that most of the films are older, not many big budget special effects make it into the top ten.
