The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are to make a return to the big screen in a new live action film.
According to the industry magazine Variety, John Fusco who has a track record with martial arts related films has been drafted in to write the script.
Once again, this is going to be a prequel, the film will explain how the characters of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and their rat mentor Splinter actually got to where they are.
This is trend that is set to flow through the world of sci-fi, as we find out the history behind the stories that we have got to know so well, or so we thought.
It was twenty five years ago when the turtles first appeared as characters in a comic book created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman.
The new film is due to be completed by 2011.
