The UK broadcaster ITV has acquired the rights to the latest hit show from the US, following the successful theme of vampires.
The Vampire Diaries has been developed for TV from the books by LJ Smith, by Bonanza Productions, Outerbanks Entertainment and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros Television and CBS Television Studios
The series that has been adapted by Kevin Williamson follows the exploits of two vampire brothers, one is good and naturally, the other is evil. They do battle over the soul of high school girl, as well as her friends and family.
ITV have acquired this show as part of a multi deal with Warner Bros International TV, this will include the Harry Potter, Batman and Matrix films too.
The show will be aired on ITV2 during 2010.
