With so much going on in the world of digital rights and what should happen to those people who illegally download copyrighted material that even writers admit to downloading from BitTorrent sites.

In fact, in true science fiction tradition, this story has a twist to it.

Speaking at a games event in Ohio, sci-fi writer Michael Stackpole admitted to downloading material from certain nameless websites.

However, what makes this even stranger is that the material was his own; he downloads the copies because it is faster than scanning his original material into his computer.

To his credit, the writer who has a string of Star Wars related stories published was giving a talk to young writers, where he told them to embrace the internet and what it can do for them.

Michael Stackpole also offers shorts stories for the iPhone through the app store, something the writer claims to be a first.
