It is a matter of course these days that almost any film starring a major star is going to have a sequel, so when talk of Ghost Rider 2 leaks out the initial feeling is sequel.
But according to the star himself, Nicolas Cage spells out that this second film is not going to be a sequel or in that case a prequel, but rather a re-write, this means that we are to forget the first film and think of the second as being something else.
In order to meet with the demands of the global audience, as with National Treasure, it is essential that the film takes on an international feel and it would seem this is exactly what is planned.
Ghost Rider 2 will see Johnny Blaze working with the Catholic Church to battle evil in Europe, it is due to be released in 2010.
