With 3D making a return to film in a big way, it should come as no surprise to hear that DreamWorks are planning to make a movie based on the View Master.
For anyone who does not know a View Master is an old toy that dates back to the early seventies. It is a cross between binoculars and photo viewer.
The user would insert circular discs and face towards the light for a 3D effect; discs were based on books and films of the time.
DreamWorks are currently in talks with the Mattel for the movie rights of the device, there are even rumours that the writing team behind “Star Trek” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are already on board with this project.
