A very interesting review. I have a few minor quibbles here and there, but they are just that: minor quibbles.* On the whole, this is at least a very informed review; though if I recall correctly, STJ rather tore this volume to shreds for its various errors and (quite rightly) the continuing use in a volume of some (at least intended) respectability of what are known to be terribly corrupt texts.
*My main point of contention is this continuing idea of the "contradictions" in Lovecraft's character -- things which, once they are seen in context, are certainly no more surprising than with any other human being; and certainly much more well reconciled than is indicated here.
