Grammar Quiz!

You scored 100%: You’re a Grammar Guru!

The average score for all users is 91%.

I actually knew all the answers, but to be fair I read about the 'bored of' thing very recently. (Think it was an Oatmeal comic, I learn a lot of grammar from the Oatmeal!)

I got 97% but to be honest I guessed on one of them and was right.

"You scored 100%: You’re a Grammar Guru!"

I'm not convinced that saying "bored of", rather than "bored with" or "bored by", is as heinous a crime as saying "should of", "could of" or "would of".

* Expects immanent... er... imminent explulsion from the Pedant's Club. *

94% -- I feel dirty. Bloody who and whom

Edit: I agree with Ursa too, but I'm merely a 94%er so nobody listen to me

100%, which surprised me. I'd agree with Ursa on the bored by/of issue.

I also agree that "bored of" is not at all the same thing as "would of", etc. -- I don't use it, but I don't think it particularly bothers me.

I was'nt sure with "who" and "whom" either, but seemed two get it wright!

100%
Although I probably wouldn't have put an apostrophe in either one or two years time if they hadn't insisted.

I hesitated a bit at that.

Does time belong to months? Isn't a month merely a unit by which one might use to help describe the length of a period of time? If we were to measure time by the amount of sand that flows through the constriction in an hour glass, one might say, "I'll have finished this ice cream in six grams' time." It would be just as logical as to say, "I'll have finished this ice cream in three minutes' time."

There's an awful lot of time-owning going on here. It's owned by months and grams? Does the sand own it as well?

No wonder time flies: it's trying to flee from all these owners.

Heh. So no one ask me to crit again.... :D

To be fair, I tend to comment mainly on characters and dialogue and leave the grammar to those better at it. Seems a good decision. :)

"Well, yes, grammar guru, 100%, but we didn't really expect anything else," he exposes, not particularly modestly, "did we?"
