When I was at primary school in the 80's the school library had a selection of young reader sci fi books that were part of a series. I think the books were colour coded for difficulty with purple or orange bars on the cover. They were thin and about A5 in size, in the format of a graphic novel, the artwork was black and white and involved a sort of exploration team, possibly lunar or interplanetary. From memory they spent a lot of time on the surface in space suits in craters and on rovers etc.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Just stumbled across your post in my search for the very same series of books. Did you have any joy in establishing what they were called?

This isn't it, but your post reminded me of these mad crazy books I read when I was about 11. Even then I thought it was nuts, but enjoyable.
