Snow in unexpected places

Natural cycles in the weather pattern? "Worst in 100 years" - which means it's done it before!!

Syria, Jerusalem, Egypt.

What's going on?

I haven't followed this weather news, but those places have some quite high regions so it isn't such a stretch for them to get snow in winter. Golan Heights, Highest elevation 2,814 m (9,232 ft); Sinai Peninsula, Highest elevation 2,640 m (8,651 ft).

I do think snow in the Valley of the Kings is quite unusual though.

Like the others said sometimes it happens. Where I live it snowed in November which until about four years ago was unusual.

When I married my hubby it had recently snowed in the Mojave Desert. (The bit in between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.)

As I'm sure most Chronners understand, we have to be careful not to confuse odd weather with climate change.

It is quite bizarre, but the fact that is has happened before makes it a little less strange. If the Egyptians are anything like the Irish, then everything will grind to a halt with a bit of snow ;)
