Just shows you: alcohol can't be all bad if you can drink as much as he did, and live that long... Lawrence of Arabia was masterful, I may have to see it again. But I think Lion in Winter was his best - brilliant acting, and made me wish I'd studied more history when I was a bairn!

Ooh, those burning blue eyes in Lawrence (Florence of Arabia, Coward called it!)

The Lion in Winte
r is one of my favourite films, and he was great in it. But by coincidence we tried to watch Becket at the weekend, for which he was also Oscar nominated, and we couldn't get past the first five minutes.

The Lion in Winter was brilliant. (Katherine Hepburn was quite good in it too :))

The Ruling Class was quirky but fun.

And I can't even say the words Man of La Mancha to myself without tears welling up behind my eyes, even if it was complete rubbish really.

Oh!! we were watching Lawrence just last night.

Rest with what you have written Peter.

A legend gone. Lawrence of Arabia is one of my favorite movies of all time, and of course I just fell in love with him all over again in Casanova, as the old version of David Tennant.

Rest in peace, sir.

The Ruling Class was quirky but fun.

One of the strangest movies ever made, but I enjoyed it very much with him in it.

Mr O'Toole was truely in a class of his own. I will miss him.

Rest in peace Peter. Thanks for entertaining me.

I was saddened to hear of this. I still think Lawrence of Arabia is possibly the Best Movie Ever Made.

One of the nice things about him was that he did comedies so very well, I remember "The Ruling Class" as one of the most hilarious, (and scary) movies I ever saw.
