***SPOILERS: FOR READERS WHO HAVE READ DANCE WITH DRAGONS***

I'll like to preface this by saying that if this was any other author, this line of questioning could be a little creepy. However, we're dealing with George RR Martin and death is as much a part of the storyline as the Bear and the Maiden fair.

This whole topic came to mind when I was wondering how/if Jaime will die in the hands of Brienne/Lady Stoneheart and gang. There's not much Jaime can say in defense as Sansa/Arya are dead/lost/held hostage from their knowledge or lack thereof. Brienne talked her way out of death, can Jaime?

Ok, I'll start first:

Cersie Lannister will die at the hands of Doran Martell. This will be payback from the fake Gregor head she sent. This will be found out when her champion is discovered. Obviously "at the hands" doesn't have to be taken literally since his gout infested body wouldn't allow him to physically lift a finger, but it will be his doing....(In my opinion)

Will the Blackfish be caught and executed, or will he come back and slay someone?
Will Arya kill a main character? If so, who?
Who will kill Walder Frey? Or will he strike again before father time kills him?

One thing that struck me was in an interview with GRRM, he said one of the main points of ASoFaI was to defy expectations. In short, events would conspire to make the reader think one thing through expectation of previous stories - so GRRM would do something to defy that.

Ned Stark, Khal Drogo, Robb - all examples where GRRM saw that the reader would expect these characters to do certain things - defeat Cersei, help Dany across the sea, avenge his father - and in every instance, he cut that away.

So beware of expectation, because where you can see it, GRRM can, and he's writing this series to defy it.

Absolutely, the proverbial curve ball is always in play. That's what makes this thread more interesting. Sort of like the prediction of TWOW release. :)

I always felt though that GRRM didn't just kill characters to make things unpredictable. I thought he did it to reflect reality (which is unpredictable), and because with so many characters and wars it would be inevitable that some would die.

Who's left on Arya's list these days?

I never thought Ned Stark did anything unexpected. He was a stupid asshole, too wrapped up in his own ridiculous sense of loyalty and honor (which not even the people he was being loyal to cared about) to see where his own interests lay. He destroyed himself, his family, his kingdom and quite possibly the whole realm as a result, but it is exactly the kind of thing his sort would be expected to do.

First, I'll start with the easy one... Stannis. Stannis will get hacked to pieces by Others before he even meets The Other.

Cersei gets choked by Jaime or Dany... she could be the valonqar.

Jorah will face his doom at the hands of BFS.

Jaime and Tyrion... I dunno who kills who, but they must meet again. If Tyrion is on Dany's side, then he'll get BFS to kill Jaime.

Jon will be killed by.... uh... I mean... sorry.

Loras will be killed when... right.

Middlefinger will be undone by Sansa. But how can Sansa outmaneuver him? The only plan she can concoct without his knowledge will involve a faceless Arya... ergo, Arya gets revenge for her father.

I love this! Its that simple, I just love it.

Of course, Arya might do in Sansa at the same time... she's a wild child.

Ok I'll give this a shot:

Cersei will die at the hands of Jaime the Valonqar.

I have to agree Littlefinger will die by the doing of Sansa.

Stannis will die to Ramsay Bolton.

Ramsay will die to Jon Snow.

Roose Bolton will die to the Blackfish.

Ilyn Payne will die to Arya.

Walder Frey will die to Arya.

Daario Naharis will die to Ser Jorah(Jealousy will bring him to show his steel)

Ser Jorah will be fed to Drogon(lol)

The UnGregor will die to Hound. (This one is the obvious choice, but I just want to see Sandor forsake his renewed faith at the Quiet Isle once he learns about UnGregor and come back from hiding to seek vengeance).

Lord Tarly will meet his match against Brienne the Beauty.

Victarion will be slayed by BFS in an epic fight so Dany can take his ships.

Euron Crows Eye will die by Davos the Onion Knight in a clash of warships at sea once Davos takes over Lord Manderlys fleet he is building.

The Darkstar will die to Areo Hotah.

Doran Martell will die to gluttony.

Margaery will die to Cersei(Cersei will live through her trial of combat only so she can be strangled by the Valonqar)

Tommen will in turn die by Mace Tyrell.

Mace Tyrell will die to UnGregor.

And last but certainly not least.....Tyrion will die towards the end of the story. His demise will be that of a dagger from a whore, his weakness coming full circle to haunt him. This would leave the three heads of the dragon to be Jon, Dany and Aegon! And Jaime on the iron throne of course :)

Doran Martell will die to gluttony.

Did you mean Gout?

I have to echo that Littlefinger will definately fall victim to Sansa's ploting, but what I think she will actually do, is use one of his own plot's against him. She will make sure one of his tricks backfires, make sure someone knows more than Littlefinger expects them to and one or all of the lords of the eerie will execute him.

Also, as much as I hate to admit this or even think about it, I think BFS is going to die in the first battle of the next book and more than that, i think it will be a nameless soldier who kills him. Some ridiculous slave soldier dressed in pink. On one hand this will be a tradgedy, but on the other hand, I cannot think of a more fitting end to BFS than in battle. That is all he has ever known.

Blasphemy. Only BFS is strong enough to hurt BFS.
