What are you working on right now?

Hey, everyone, first post on this website.

Here are the things I am writing at the moment.

Der Kampf - an alt-WW2 story over on AlternateHistory.com. 400k views and 2k comments. Currently in the motions to publish it in about six installments. First one is ready to go, second is in editing stage while I write the third. Revolves around the idea of Hitler getting rejected from trying to join the German Army and joins the Austrian Landwehr out of a mix of spite, desperation and comes out of the war an ardent Austrian nationalist. The books follows his rise and fall as the Austrian Führer.

Shuffled Presidents - a TL where I randomized all US presidents into a different order and how they would face the times they live in and so on. It starts with John Tyler as the first American President and Richard Nixon as the current president.

<unnamed fantasy story> - in a world of acidic oceans, exotic creatures, sparse isles that humans cling to in survival, a king’s heir is dead and his killer on the loose. Elsewhere a half-mad wizard arrives to an island in the middle of nowhere in the ocean and discovers a girl of prophecy who might save the world or destroy it.

Fractured America - in a world where the U.S. collapsed in the early 1800s, the Republic of Texas and Federation of California find themselves on opposing sides of the Great War that is sweeping the globe.

Appreciate y’all if you took the time to read it. I’m down to answer any questions y’all might have.

P.S. I also wrote the Warhammer 40,000 fanfic ‘Death of Unity - The Fulgrimian Heresy’ and ‘From the Ashes Reborn - the unofficial Continuation of the Dornian Heresy’

Hello.

This is my first post here on this website as well. I'll admit, I'm a bit shy.
Not only is this my first time in a forum but also writing in general as I've only started to seriously write in the last six months.

Just call me Delta- The story is a Sci-fi military drama following four protagonists and the antagonists who chase them across their galaxy. Why are they being pursued? For the fact that our protagonists are known as "Walking bombs." Whether that's true or not you'll have to read the story to find out.

Static Obsession- "No one person can be an island" Dale Thomas, an electrician living in the densely populated New York City would agree with that statement. He felt he would be alone for the rest of his days until a chance encounter with the new pop sensation, Serene changed everything. With this story I want to get across that some people find joy in the pyres of hell.

Same thing as last time with some variation. As this is the second to last book and the culmination of the conflict ala Minas Tirith (the last being a far far less sappy relative to the sailing to the west wrap-up) and it brings together pieces from earlier in the series.

One such is Sviato Salgeren deRao the current owner of a set of endowed weapons passed down from Carlos Verthasich deRao through sixty-ish generations of pupils. The last name is adopted. I loved writing de' (an affection pronounced with a breathy eh at the end) because he was funny as all hell (books 6 & 12) and I missed him. I found a way to inject Sviato with certain characteristics from his progenitors and specifically de' as well as the geas the name line carried and linked him up with another character I enjoy, Sa'Aren, a feisty and tough gal who is rather humorous in her own right.

I then got totally lost because they were on a "side quest" from the major conflict and ... well, I got engrossed and lost. I pulled all the text involving that side quest from the main ms to keep the writing segregated and am reinserting it now. The preceding explaining my disappearing for the last 1-2 weeks(?).

I am working on my fourth sci-fi novel. I am in the initial phases of trying to create the foundations of the story. Sometimes I have ideas of some of the basic elements and while I am searching for a major point of the book I often come up with something once I have some of the lower levels done.

I am also using A.I. artwork generators to create a children's book. I have some ideas for a short story and I am going to be using the pictures to come up the story.

A minor injury has kept me in the house for the last week or so, and I've been re-editing a four-volume fantasy quartet that I finished during the pandemic. It's basically a real-world historical war seen through a fantasy lens with big flying monsters (and an ending, unlike certain other works). It's pretty sprawling - in fact, I'm surprised that I managed to get to the end with it all making sense. I've never been very into the whole "My characters surprise me" concept, but it is "nice" to read about these wretched, murderous people once again.

I am writing my third and fourth books together since they take place simultaneously in the series. The second book is already under review.

Just reached 70,000 words on my Vatican thriller which may or may not have a supernatural element (the finale gives me the option!). I expect the novel will finish up being around 110-120,000 words and I'm hoping to complete the draft by mid-September when I head off for Europe.

I'm currently working on my first book, which is part of a two-book series. It's a science fiction novel set in a post-apocalyptic world.
I've finished outlining the chapters and am now working on the first draft, with around 10,000 words written so far. I expect to finish the draft within the next 3-4 months.

I'm finally onto my second novel. Not a direct sequel of my first, but tangentially connected. Story's plotted out; just need to do the hard part now. About 5,000 words in. Hoping I can finish in a year or two...

Combination of a couple of different scifi ideas - creepy AI, hidden monsters and badly behaving people. Fertile ground for all sorts of shenanigans.

I'm working on my thesis for my PopFic MFA program which I'll be finishing in the Spring. It's a YA fantasy novel about a pair of siblings who lose their father to mysterious curse of unknown origin. One delves further into academia while the other strays far from the magical world he’s always known—each to learn the truth. It's set in an alternate 19th century and has a fun magic system with shadow strings that allow users to share power with one another. The book is intended to be the first in a trilogy.

Since I'm on summer break at the moment, I'm trying to use the Terry Pratchett writing method of trying to write at least one page per day. I've found it's more sustainable than telling myself I need to write 5 pages per weekend, and I'm more productive (so far). I have one semester left before my thesis, during which I will be taking a novel bootcamp workshop class which is meant to focus on the first 100 pages/ the first act of my novel. I'm hoping by the time I reach my thesis semester, I'll have most of my book drafted so i can spend more time getting feedback from my advisor and revising.

Welcome to the Chrons family. No need to be shy — lots of us louts here are happy to help where we can and get to know people. A great start is the writing challenge threads in the Writers Forum.
Somerset & Wiltshire. Another attempt to have fiction pro published before I go nonfiction forever...

Oooh, sounds lovely. Any West Kennet and Glasto vibes? Or perhaps the Mowing Devil?!

Im a very new writer so I am working on my first multi thread story. I'm trying to keep it a bit pg on the romance end because I'd like my younger nice and nephew to read it. I'm afraid it will end up being just long and boring lol.
