You should go to this. It includes me and a range of proper writers doing talks and workshops. Also, the food is good, it's not very expensive and you get to meet agents. Can't say fairer than that, can you?

Definitely. Even just for the opportunity to meet people involved in the business and pitch to agents and publishers it's a good deal. On top of that, there's the actual talks, workshops and so on. I believe that other conferences run to hundreds of pounds, so if you're seriously into writing - in whatever form - it's certainly worth a look.
