'Something' P. Ruddigore?

I remember reading a fantasy book in the mid to late 80's and one of the character's name keeps popping into my head from time to time even today. His name was 'something' P. Ruddigore or something close to that. Any ideas what book this could be? I don't remember it being a particularly good book but that name has stuck with me ever since for some odd reason. Thanks for any light you can shed.

Dancing Gods by Jack L Chalker? Throckmorton P Ruddigore was the character's name.
