Just saw the Evil Dead remake and was surprised by how good it was. Granted, I didn't have high expectations going in, but the makers of this movie did something most remakes don't do nowadays; actually try to make an interesting piece of cinema that can stand on its own merit.

I tried to watch but found it quite disturbing for my liking. And the only other disturbing movie that comes close is 8mm with Nicolas Cage.

Man, talk about distrubing. 8mm really takes the cake. That's a movie I could only watch one time. But there's one that even tops that: Last House on the Left. Stay away from that movie if you don't like screwed up cinema. It's Wes Craven's first feature film made in the 70's, and they recently did a remake which isn't as bad.

Pure rubbish here, started fastforwarding perty quick. Completely missed the point, totally fragged the premise that made EvilDead better'n a zillion other hackfests.
BUT - the new TV show, Raimi and Campbell - has a chance to bring back the sense of humour that the remake completely ignored.
Bring it on - isn't it out today?
This is the first TV series I've even slight interest in for a good number of years now, don't see how it can miss.
