About 20-30 years ago I watched a movie which depicted a post-apocalyptic world, with deserts all around and hardly any herbal life. There is a straight railway with a long freight (?) train, for some reason important - maybe oil, I do not remember the plot of the movie. Finally, the train arrives at a base, protected with an iron wire fence. The base seems to be run by a boy with kind of psychic powers, or is it a robot? I do not remember much of the plot - was there a giant explosion at the end?
The titel of the movie is neither Mad Max 1,2 or 3 nor Damnation Alley, but the post-atomic world is quite the same as depicted here.
