Bit of silliness: Which Neil Gaiman Heroine Are You?

I got Door from Neverwhere.
You are Lady Door, a girl from the high society in the past and a homeless person in tatters in the present. You are driven by the idea to fulfill your father's last will and to find the door that will open the family secret. That's knightly of you. Notwithstanding the hardships of homeless life, you're the kindest person humanity has ever seen; you are the light beam in the dark world of the Underground. You know how to open locked doors without keys and to walk through walls, nothing ever stops you on your way. Just use your talent for the common good only!

I am Death from the Sandman

You're the Death, the woman everyone is afraid of but only until the moment he meets you. What makes a difference between you and a common notion of Death is your sense of humor and a kind heart. You know how to deliver the shocking news in a gallant, stylish way and to do what is to be done in the best possible way. You have a taste in music, clothes and drinks even though you're not too much interested in all that worldly stuff. What really interests you most is how to be a normal person - and this option you will never have, you're just unique

Lettie out of Ocean. Which I'll gladly take. But... I wonder if it's chosen on your fav book to make you feel good? Cos I chose Ocean and I know you'll have chosen Neverwhere...

Possibly, cos all the other stuff I picked doesn't really fit with Door. Except I did pick the key in the first picture thing.

I also got Delirium. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing!

I got Death which I am quite happy with.

I also did the which fantasy creature are you quiz. I am a unicorn. Ethereal and graceful. Yup. That's me all right.

Delirium from the Sandman
Actually the choice of books (and everything else) was very limited. I only have Coraline on that list, so picked it.
You're an embodiment of all the craziness and instability of this world in the most wonderful way. Your favorite occupation after dancing with yourself is talking to dogs on the street. Basically, you're unable to distinguish between them and taxi drivers. You are a person "in between": not fully in this reality, and not in another one. It's simply because you can't choose between them, you're not too much of a decisive person. The idea of being "nowhere" excites you most. That is why airports and train stations are among your favorite locations

I think it's rubbish quiz.

The site is packed full of nasty corporate ad spyware to track you too. (I blocked all that routinely). It's a pretty site /page with garbage insecure underlying design. Really what are web designers smoking? Needing more than one domain is a security fail. It needs I think 4 to work.

I mostly avoid these sorts of quizzes, for above stated reasons; plus they're usually lame.

My sense of irony won out, tonight. I'm a boy and the absurdity of taking a girlie quiz caught my whimsey.

I especially enjoyed choosing accessories, a dress and nail polish. ( The nail polish concept is not new to me. I have daughters who have decorated me, on numerous occasions, as a passtime. (What no bizarre hairstyles?!?))

Apparently I pass as Lady Door. I have little idea what that means. My experience in favorite Neil Gaiman books was under-represented in the quiz.

Enjoy the mental image of my avatar festooned in Pippi Longstocking braids, multicolored finger and toenails; juxtaposed on whatever it is that Lady Door looks like. On a Motorcycle, ala American Gods.

Oh, these what type of person are you quizzes are always lame and you can always work out what answers to give to get the desired result.

I'm now concerned about what I've exposed my pc to by going on that site.

Your PC is fine. It's all site to site behavoural tracking software. The 3rd parties all know where you are, your IP, and previous site.
From all the other sites they are on they also read your IP and previous site visited.
That's why I have google, facebook & twitter actually blocked unless I am ACTUALLY logging into their sites. There are many domains that are used for tracking that I always block.

The messages that the EU forced sites to put about Cookies are about privacy. But the evil corporate scum don't rely on cookies. EVERY DAY almost every US Web company (and many elsewhere, but USA is worst) is breaking EU privacy law and the intention of the Cookie law.
They even can serve a unique transparent pixel and can use that to know your IP, location, OS, Browser and previous site visited.
So I use Noscript not just to block scripts or avoid malware on random sites (drive by attacks) but to preserve privacy by complete blocking of various addresses. The URLs in the host site web page for the images (which might be a single clear pixel), scripts etc and even adverts are then treated as harmless text and then they don't even know I have access the page.

I put none of this stuff on my own sites. If someone wants to use Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Redit, Tumblr, Instagram, Pintrest etc they can log themselves in and paste the link. I won't host privacy busting adverts or these web parasites that are exploiting people.

Imagine everything you watched on TV, everything you listened to on Radio and every poster and billboard you looked at the provider, program maker, advertiser etc knew who and where you are, when and how long and what you just previously looked/listened?
That's how the Internet works.
Real Radio and TV is anonymous. Watch and listen on the web and they know pretty much who you are. Web sites are worse. Some give your information to over a dozen (mostly USA) third parties at once.

ALWAYS log out of your "social media" before you leave the page or it makes it even EASIER for you to be tracked by the "helpful" little buttons that web site operators foolishly add for you.

Thanks Ray. That's reassuring about my pc but that whole "spying" is a bit worrying.
