It appears that the boys behind The Pretender have decided to reboot? continue? something the series vial written word:

I *think* it's mostly a reboot. I've read the first couple chapters and it's, more-or-less, the pilot episode of the show with a few modifications, a shift up the timeline (Jarod was 4 or so in like 1985-ish).
And this is purported to be the first novel in a series. Steven Long Mitchell and Craig W. Van Sickle are very big fans of their own show/creation, so I can see them keeping this going.
