Can anyone help me recognise this PKD book?

Hi All

I am a huge PKD fan and a while back I was blundering through a website of his back catalogue and read the description of a story (either short or book) and it has been bugging me that I forgot the name so therefore couldn't get the story itself to read and enjoy.

What I remember from the description was something like a man drives to work one day, he arrives at his place of work to find it is all apocalyptic and destroyed. He then zooms back to his house to tell his wife what he saw. She doubts him and hops in the car with him to check it out but oddly it is all back to normal when they go back. That is all I can remember but even those details are a tinch hazy.

It has been like a splinter in my mind for ages - can anyone help pull it out?

fantastic - that is the very fella.

i am so relieved that i hadn't dreamed it. i loved the adjustment bureau movie. it never occurred to me that it would be the original short story that has been bugging my memory.
