I received an e-mail from Raechel Henderson informing me that, due to ill-health, she can no longer continue running Eggplant. Unfortunately for me that means the withdrawal of my novellas from Amazon et al. and the remaining stories in the series won't be published. A shame, but them's the breaks! Martin Clark

Agreed. That's lousy luck. I hope you can get them published elsewhere.

Damn annoying - any chance Gary can take them up and publish them together?

Am enjoying your submission, Martin by the way. Will be in touch.:)

What was the collection theme?

Collection theme? Just everyday tales of a 1950's private eye in Los Angeles who's dogged by a small grey imp only he can see and hear. The cases are the usual crop of murder, blackmail, extortion and voodoo. Some people die. The series title was The Dead Don't Weep.

Hi,

I'm confused - why does it mean the withdrawl of your already pubbed books? I see no reason for that. Maybe she can no longer act as publisher, but if she closes her doors don't the rights revert to the author - or alternatively whoever else she sells them to? You may be able to buy them back yourself.

Cheers, Greg.

The novellas are currently e-books sold via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. and the Eggplant website. As I understand it when Eggplant closes its doors all its existing publications will be withdrawn from sale and the rights returned to the authors. Presumably I could then re-release them (new artwork would be required) either though a new publisher or by going down the self-pub route.

Hi,

Why not ask if you can keep - or purchase the artwork? With that and your edited files, self publishing the works should be a doddle.

Cheers, Greg.
