I was very excited when I heard about the first volume of the Ringworld graphic novel series. My excitement lasted until I got my hands on a copy in July. Not a graphic novel, but rather manga.
I had been envisioning a gorgeous full colour book of one of my favourite books ever. Instead it's a black and white manga style book. Oh well.
After reading it I must say the first volume is a competent adaptation of the book so far. The artwork is okay, but not what I was hoping for. If it had been billed as manga in the first place I wouldn't have been quite so disappointed.
I would say read it if you get the chance, but maybe hold on to your pennies if you don't like manga in general.
