...because chances are no one will blow it for me - the competition is too obscure for anyone to stumble across it by accident!
I was checking my junk mail folder this morning, a biannual event, and came across a quite important e-mail informing me that my 6k word story had been short-listed in a competition, one of five from a big entry. It was a story I wrote very tongue in cheek indeed, when I was in mischievous mood. Maybe I should try that care-free approach more often!
Rubbed my eyes, read it again and decided my old person eyes were telling me the truth.
